Mother Tongue Community Kitchen is a monthly event run by Speqtrum and this month (July) we are collaborating with the wonderful folks there to make Palaćinke!
Mother Tongue is an all ages event meant to be a safe space for queer and trans newcomers to find community and connections! All folks, including allies, are welcome to attend and be a part of the event!
For the dish we we making this month the recipe passed down through generations and adapted over time with new influences. SACHA’s Baba (our Public Education Coordinator’s grandmother) has lovingly shared more of the history of how this version came to be and we are excited to share that with you too! We will be making a meat version, a vegetarian version, and customizable dessert ones too! Since Palaćinke just means Croatian/Slavic style stuffed crepes you can make it many different ways for different occasions!
During our community kitchen meet up we will also be sharing a bit about SACHA’s services and upcoming events and are happy to answer any questions you have for us!
We are so excited to invite you to join us and Speqtrum Thursday, July 27th at 4:00pm @ The Kitchen at 438 Hughson St. N. as we work together to create a beautiful space, share stories, and eat yummy food together!
No pre-registration required. We hope to see you there!
