April 3, 2020
Dear SACHA friends and Hamilton community,
I am writing to provide an update on SACHA services during these ever changing times.
SACHA continues to take steps to protect the health and safety of our service users, volunteers, staff and communities in Hamilton. Therefore, in compliance with requests from leading health authorities for individuals to stay home, the SACHA office will remain closed until May 4, 2020.
We have postponed our Annual Chocolate Fest Fundraiser from May 28, 2020 to the fall. All tickets sold thus far will be valid for the fall date.
SACHA staff are working remotely and can be reached via email or telephone. You can call our office at 905−525−4573 and leave a voicemail. You can also send us a message using our online contact form http://sacha.ca/contact. Intakes for counselling are ongoing and our Counsellors are offering distance counselling to survivors. Our Coordinators for the Public Education Program and Diverse Communities Outreach Program are currently working on online tools and virtual workshops for survivors. We will keep you informed via social media and our website www.sahca.ca as updates become available.
I wish take a moment to thank our incredible team at SACHA, staff and volunteers, who are working diligently to support survivors in our city of Hamilton. A big thank you also to everyone who is working around the clock on the front lines to keep us all safe. We see you, we appreciate you.
Finally, if you are survivor in need of immediate support, please call our 24-hr Support Line at 905−525−4162.
You are not alone.
We believe survivors.
Sinceramente,
Jessica Bonilla-Damptey
