Survivors and Substance Use

Are you a woman who is a survivor of sexual violence?

Have you ever used substances such as alcohol, drugs, or gambling to help you cope?

SACHA and the City of Hamilton’s Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Services is running an open group for survivors who’ve struggled with substance use starting on Monday, October 24th.

Open group means that you don’t have to register to be a part of the group. You choose to come to dates when you are available or the topic speaks to you. We ask that you arrive on time as group begins at 3pm and we don’t allow late arrivals.

Topics include:

  • Safety, Grounding and Self-Nuturing
  • Substance Use
  • Sexual Violence and Its Impact
  • Dealing with Feelings
  • Asking for Help
  • Anger
  • Relationships
  • Sex and Sexuality
